Downtown Ogden at dusk with mountain peaks behind Historic 25th Street

You don't have to be from here to belong here.

I've lived in cities across the country, and Ogden is the one that felt like home. If you're thinking about making the move, I'll show you the life that's waiting and help you land in the right spot.

WHY I CHOSE OGDEN

Patten Wood smiling outdoors at golden hour

I had the whole country to pick from. I picked Ogden.

I've lived in San Francisco, DC, Miami, and Mississippi, and traveled to about twenty countries. So when I tell you Ogden is special, it's because I've seen the alternatives and this is the one that felt like home. On a single summer day here, I can walk the three-block farmer's market downtown, hike to a waterfall, swim in Pineview Reservoir, and finish with an incredible dinner and a pint on Historic 25th Street. In winter, I'm twenty minutes door to slopes at Snowbasin and Powder Mountain. The mountains are close, the downtown is real, the prices haven't lost their minds, and the community is strong. That mix is rare, and once you feel it, it's hard to leave.

A day in the life, all four seasons.

THE OUTDOOR LIFE

Trails out your back door, a reservoir for the hot days, and two world-class ski resorts up the canyon. Ogden's trail system runs right through town for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking, Pineview Reservoir is your summer playground for swimming and paddleboarding, and Snowbasin and Powder Mountain are about twenty minutes from your front door when the snow flies.

THE DOWNTOWN LIFE

Historic 25th Street is the heart of it, blocks of local restaurants, bars, and shops with real character, none of it cookie-cutter. Add a three-block farmer's market in the warm months and a summer concert series, and you get a downtown that actually feels alive, the kind of place small businesses thrive instead of struggle.

A PLACE ON THE RISE

Ogden isn't standing still. Snowbasin will host skiing events for the 2034 Winter Olympics, bringing the eyes of the world and real momentum to the area. Getting in now means landing somewhere with room to grow, not somewhere that already priced everyone out.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

1

We start with a conversation.

Tell me what's pulling you to the area, your timing, your must-haves, and what matters most to you. I'll give you the honest picture of life here, no sugarcoating, so you can decide if it's the right fit.

2

We find where you fit.

The greater Ogden area is a mix of towns and neighborhoods, each with its own feel, from historic downtown Ogden to the foothills to the Ogden Valley. I'll help you figure out where you actually belong based on your commute, your budget, and the life you want.

3

I help you land.

From your first visit to the keys in your hand, I'll guide the search, the offer, and the move, and connect you with the people you need along the way. You won't be figuring out a new place alone.

Let's find your corner of it.

Tell me what's pulling you to the area and what you're looking for. I'll help you find the right spot and map out a plan to get here. No pressure, no obligation.

I'm looking to...

A taste of life here.

The food, the community, the momentum. A few reasons people fall for this place, the way I actually live it.

About Patten

The agent who chose Ogden over everywhere else.

I moved to Ogden after living in San Francisco, DC, Miami, and Mississippi. Out of everywhere I've lived, this is the one that felt like home, and I haven't looked back. Before real estate I spent 20 years in marketing, which means I think differently about how to position a home, attract the right buyers, and tell a story that actually lands. I also have a good eye for renovations. I can tell you what that outdated kitchen is really going to cost before you fall in love with it. I'm a member of the Homeworks Property Lab team. If you want to buy or sell in Greater Ogden, I'd love to be your person. Serving Ogden, North Ogden, Pleasant View, South Ogden, South Weber, Roy, Riverdale, Unita, West Haven, Layton, Clearfield, Eden, Huntsville, Wolf Creek, Nordic Valley, Mountain Green, the greater Ogden Valley, Salt Lake City, and everything in between.
